Kill Devil Hills– Judy Carol Canady Miller, beloved mother, friend, teacher – was called to heaven on Sunday the 6th of June while enjoying her favorite spot on the beach in Kill Devil Hills North Carolina. To know Judy was to love her….a stranger to none and a friend to all, she blessed each person she touched. Her zest for living, contagious laughter, and warm, nurturing spirit endeared her to family and friends alike. She will be missed by all who knew her. Originally from Hope Mills, NC, Judy taught in Cumberland County Schools before moving to the Outer Banks in 1986 to teach in the Dare County School System for special needs students. After teaching for 33 years, she retired in 2000 and began her second career in real estate. She worked with Jim Perry and Company for ten years before joining Coldwell Banker Seaside Realty in Kitty Hawk, always forming lasting friendships with her colleagues and clients. Judy is the daughter of Dallys Wilder Canady and Jessie Herman Canady (both deceased), and sister of Patsy Canady Cain (deceased) and is survived by many dear friends as well as family members: Jasper (brother) and Frances Canady; Herman Canady (brother); Joyce (daughter) and Cole Moulton; Ronald (son) and Michelle Miller; and granddaughters Emily, Waverly, and Bethany; as well as many nieces and extended family in her hometown of Grays Creek, North Carolina. Two services will be held to celebrate Judy’s vibrant and refreshing life. The Outer Banks celebration will be held at Liberty Christian Fellowship in Colington on Thursday, June 10, 2010 at 5 o’clock pm. The Grays Creek celebration will be held at Green Springs Baptist Church in Parkton on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 11 o’clock am. In the spirit of our beloved Judy let us say: In the end, not that there really is an end, it’s ALL going to be about how much you smiled, how much you laughed, how much you loved and how much you enjoyed your life. That’s what Judy taught us. We will always love her for that…and so much more. Gallop Funeral Services, Inc. was entrusted with arrangements. Condolences to the family may be expressed via the online registry. |
