Kitty Hawk- Charles Lee Readling, 80, of Kitty Hawk, NC died in the early morning of Friday February 19, 2010 in Barco, NC. Charles was born January 22, 1930 in Kannapolis, NC. He was the son of the late Leonard Lee Readling and the late Daisy Dean Simpson Readling and the father of the late Michael Scott Readling.

Charles served his country honorably in the United States Army. He built a successfull career as a statistician in the United States Federal Government with the Department of Energy in Washington, DC. After raising his family he and his wife retired to Kitty Hawk just last year. Although his time was brief here, he enjoyed spending time at the beach and spending quality time with his family.

Charles is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Nancy Readling of the Kitty Hawk residence; one daughter Terri Lynn Readling, and a special daughter, Sherri Hopkins both of Kill Devil Hills; one sister Dorothy "Dot" Readling Peacock of Salisbury, NC; many extended family members and a host of dear friends.

A local visitation will be held at the Gallop Funeral Services Chapel MP 16 in Nags Head Saturday, February 20, 2010 from 5-7 pm. The funeral will be held at the Summersett Funeral Home Chapel in Salisbury, NC Monday, February 22, 2010 at 2 pm with a visitation prior to the funeral from noon to 2 pm. Interment at Rowan Memorial Park will immediately follow the funeral. Gallop Funeral Services, Inc. Nags Head and Summersett Funeral Home Salisbury were entrusted with arrangements.
